The Varsity Match has teamed up with new partners Rhino to give schools the chance to win a rugby skills coaching session with the England Coaching Team at Twickenham Stadium.
After a successful first year of the competition which saw four lucky schools get the chance to have a fun training session with England Head Coach Eddie Jones, The Varsity Match is delighted to announce the initiative will return for second year.
Schools that book trips to The Varsity Match for 20 or more pupils will be entered into a free prize draw to win one of four special coaching clinics at the stadium in-between the women’s and men’s Varsity Matches on Thursday 7 December.
School girls and boys will get a taste of the national team’s approach to the game at the annual clash between Oxford and Cambridge at Twickenham on a specialist Rhino-Turf pitch with Rhino training balls and equipment.
Commenting on the initiative, Rhino CEO Reg Clark said: “We are proud to be supporting this initiative to be encouraging as many schools as possible to come and experience a Varsity Match day at Twickenham and to win an amazing experience to play with the England Coaching Team at Twickenham.”
The Varsity Match Co-ordinator Jeremy Macklin said: “We are delighted to be working with Rhino and the RFU to bring this schools initiative back for a second year at The Varsity Match.
“The Varsity Match is often the first time school children get to visit the home of England rugby and this will make an extra special day for those taking part in the training sessions.”
All schools that book trips of 20 pupils or more by Monday 31 July will be entered into the first prize draw for the first of four winners.
Further winners will then be announced in September, October and November. Discounted school tickets are now available at a new lower price of £10 per junior which includes entry to both the Women’s and Men’s Varsity Matches.
