The Varsity Match has a rich heritage of schools attendance, with school children from across the country heading to Twickenham for a fun day of sport at the home of England Rugby.
“As a school we have been attending for several years now and hope to continue giving our students such a wonderful experience of this majestic match for years to come” – Martyn Bagwell (Head of PE at St Osmunds Middle School)

WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation has teamed up with The Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge University Rugby Clubs as an Official Charity Partner to raise awareness of its global campaign to save New Zealand dolphins from extinction and to tackle the urgent issue of ocean plastic pollution.
Taking inspiration from the rugby culture of New Zealand, schools are invited to create, film and send in their very own Haka. Five lucky schools will be selected to perform their Haka at Twickenham and the winning school will be decided at The Varsity Match. The winners will then welcome the men’s teams back onto the Twickenham pitch for the second half.
How to enter
Winning schools will be notified by Wednesday 21 November.
Five schools will win a free trip to The Varsity Match for up to 20 pupils and staff (in total).
Back for 2018 in partnership with Rhino. Book a trip for 20 or more pupils to The Varsity Match and be entered into a prize draw to win one of four coaching clinics with the England Coaching Team.
All schools that book trips of 20 pupils or more by Thursday 31 May will be entered into the first prize draw for the first of four winners.
Further winners will then be announced in July, September and October 2018.
Back for 2018 – Oxford and Cambridge will be jointly hosting an information event, aimed at providing an aspirational insight into life at the two Universities. The day includes a presentation led by Schools Liaison Officers from the Universities and the opportunity to meet current undergraduates across a range of subjects. Students will also get the chance to watch both the women’s and men’s Varsity Matches. Applicable schools will be contacted by The Varsity Match to register their interest in attending the event.
