Speakers: Gavin Hastings OBE and Dr Philip Stiles

Building and maintaining motivation and resilience within leaders and teams is key to success in professional sport and business.

Dr Philip Stiles will share his international research on governance and organisational behaviour, specifically on leadership behaviours, while former Cambridge and British and Irish Lions captain Gavin Hastings OBE will compare his experiences as skipper of some of the biggest championship teams in rugby history.

Dr Philip Stiles is a Cambridge Judge Senior Lecturer, Corporate Governance Co-Director, Centre for international human resource management.

Seminar 2: High Performance Culture

Speakers: Dr Kieran West MBE and Dr Mark de Rond

In this 10-year reunion seminar, the two will discuss how individuals and teams align interests to win on the world stage at all costs; drawing upon insights from McKinsey & Co and studies of high-stakes military practices.

Olympic Champion and three-time Boat Race winner Dr Kieran West MBE was a dominant feature of Professor Mark de Rond’s 2007 Award-winning book The Last Amateurs.

Dr Mark de Rond is a Cambridge Judge Professor, Organisational Ethnography Darwin College Fellow and award-winning author and photographer.

During both the Women’s & Men’s Varsity Matches, Sportable Technologies Ltd will display real-time player performance metrics using wearable technologies and advanced data transmission.
Professor Jaideep Prabhu will then present some thoughts on the challenges that large and small firms face in innovating and how they can work together to identify, build, and commercialise new products and services for mutual benefit.

Prof Jaideep Prabhu is a Cambridge Judge Professor of Marketing, Fellow of Clare College Director of the Centre for India and Global Business (CIGB).
